  • Non-obvious connectivity, because you are 16 people who will split (Disneyland vs Shimokitazawa):

One pocket Wi-Fi brick is one SSID. Fine in a hotel room. Useless when half the group is in a different park. Returning it is a second airport queue.

    Per-phone eSIM is the boring answer if the group splits. Checkout I copied 2026-08-29 (re-check before paying): Airalo Japan 7d 5GB $10 / 10GB $17; “unlimited” 7d $27 is FUP 3GB/24h then ~1 Mbps. Holafly 7d $27.50, hotspot 1GB/day. Ubigi 10GB/7d $14 on Docomo.

Also: eSIM is not Suica. Welcome Suica Mobile is JR East, 180 days, no refund (as of March 2026). Most US/EU Android still cannot tap. Plastic IC cards for a group of 16 are simpler than hoping Wallet works.

Disclosure: Airalo links there may earn a commission. Holafly/Ubigi are official/untracked on that page. I did not invent the SKUs.
