Not a digital-nomad brand list. A FUP question.

If you work from Tokyo cafes for a week, hotspot caps matter more than the word “unlimited” on the storefront.

Copied 2026-08-29 from checkout (re-check before you pay):

  • Holafly Japan: 7-day plan $27.50. Published hotspot allowance 1GB/day.
  • Airalo Japan “unlimited” 7d $27. Fair-use: 3GB/24h then about 1 Mbps. Fine for maps. Zoom is the test.
  • Ubigi 10GB/7d $14 on Docomo if you would rather count gigabytes than FUPs.

I could not find a published Holafly Japan GB/day plan FUP (as opposed to hotspot). I am not copying blog numbers.

If you have sat on one of these FUPs during a call in 2026, that is the useful data.

Dated comparison (Airalo SoftBank +1, Holafly KDDI/SoftBank, Ubigi Docomo): https://before-you-land.tiiny.site/japan/esim/

Disclosure: if you buy Airalo through the notes below I may earn a commission. Holafly and Ubigi links there are official/untracked. I did not invent SKUs; prices copied 2026-08-29 from checkout pages and should be re-checked.
