Why does anyone think there are still chances left?

edit: to clarify, I mean there are no more chances to “halt the erosion of US democracy”–it done eroded already. We’re starting over now. The only thing we don’t know yet is whether the coming elections will be free and fair. If they are, we can start rebuilding with a new movement to replace the old failed parties. If not, other steps will wind up being taken, one way or another.

Honestly this reply is a solid way to put it, there’s a lot that can’t be said until it’s time to talk about it. It does come down to November and if we have elections that are fair it should be a sweep. We’re seeing already in smaller red districts huge flips, so if its anything but a totally blow out something was going on. My guess is Dems stopped saying what they’re going to do so a plan can’t be made against it, everyone just locked in held their ground and shut up. Couple more months, america in the balance, somethings gonna happen either way. The most important midterms I’ve ever seen personally.

Basically this is a typical chudlib. They think they are actually on the right side of history, because they support “democracies” like Israel, and the only worthy cause they stand up for is the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. But when it comes to Palestinans, they’re quiet.

They claim to hate dictators and dictatorships, and believe that there is absolutely nothing wrong or immoral with NATO and the western world hegemony. That’s why they have a blinding hatred for China, and think it’s very brave of them to be anti China.

They think is just an oopsie by yanks, that it’s as easy as voting to get rid of him.

Basically a stupid chud that hasn’t spent a minute thinking critically about anything.

Yeah, I’m not defending the democrats. I’m just saying the reason they have support is they’re perceived as not as bad as the nazis and it’s really fucking tragic that America is at that point where all a party has to do to get support is be perceived as the only viable alternative to literal nazis.

With the MAGA movement, you had massive capital backing the propaganda. And if im not mistaken, the OG Republicans didn’t really fight against Trump.

With progressives within the Democrat party structure, you’re fighting on multiple fronts – against the party itself along with anyone interested in maintaining the status quo.

MAGA didn’t go against the grain, they slid with the direction of the Overton window, albeit faster than what some were comfortable with. Going progressive is, well, the opposite of that.

Yes, there’s a surprising amount of Rep voters who hates billionaires as much as the rest of us do, but Dems aren’t truly working for the people either.

There’s different ideologies among the parties, but both of them are anti peasants, pro elite.

Stuff like universal healthcare, free schools and proper psych wards are incredibly supported policies among voters of both parties. “European style” social welfare with a charismatic leader would get 60% of the votes in the US

Maybe. A new, third party will at least not have the baggage from years of broken promises and empty lip service. Progressives have tried to work with the Dems since 2008 to no avail, so why still insist that this time will be any different?

Dems know the pickle Americans are in and have acted knowing that many will always give them their votes. Because what – will you vote R? No? Then shut up and accept whatever shit we give you.

Non voters are berated for not exercising their democratic right, but can you blame someone who’s lost hope of American politics? Obama’s campaign was such a breath of fresh air, the victory from which gave Dems power to enact some real change. All they did was to bail out banks and fuel the dumpster fire that was Trump’s election 2016. And during that election cycle, they forced a very unpopular candidate on their voters. When COVID saved them in 2020, they still gave Americans Joe Biden and continued down the same, rotten path.

Look at how they treated Zohran. I’m so glad he won because he shows that people want this kind of politics. If he was running for president, I think they would’ve tried their damnest to stop him.

So yeah, why should someone vote for them?

In my home country, the left party is sliding rightward, and this election I’m voting for a small party that actually stands for what I believe in. Some of my friends think I’m throwing my vote away, but my right to vote means my right to not be forced into making “mature” decisions about who I want to lead the country. That’s been done for some 40 years now and has never worked. Enough is enough!

This isn’t nationals. There’s too many races here (every House seat and 33 Senate seats) for them to fight every progressive candidate. That’s why you occasionally see them give up and endorse a few progressives here and there.

Also, most of their work is done in the primaries. They tend to just accept the D candidate once that is done and over with. That’s what happened with Mamdmi. Mostly because that’s honestly more important than the real election, and also because they kind of have to to keep the ruse up.

Then worked hand-in-glove with Phil Graham and Larry Pressler to dismantle the US regulatory state, sure.

And she ran against the demented rapist crook.

How the Hillary Clinton campaign deliberately “elevated” Donald Trump with its “pied piper” strategy

But look - on voting day a competent liberal is better than an incompetent rapist sycophant, n’est-ce pas?

First show me some of the former. A congo line of Andrew Cuomos and Gavin Newsoms and Gretchen Whitmires and Bob Menendezes and Michael Flynns have not been kind to the liberal party over the last generation.

How many Democrats spent a decade sucking up to Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg for a bucket of money, back in the Obama Era? How many worked hand-in-glove with Amazon and Boeing and Palantir, in the name of economic growth? How many sat on the board of Walmart and Goldman Sachs and Ford Motor Company, while pretending a liberal populism?

At some point, you have to take the blinders off.

Yeah Clinton was freaked out by Fox News’ takeover of the Chud-Americans and Congresses full of Klansmen and yes he got seekrit blowjobs and liiiiiiiieeeed about it which affected his plans but championships are a crapshoot, you get what you get.

Do we need to scrape up some “what good did clinton do” to make that case? I’m sure people who weren’t alive or whelped then may need some additional context in the lefty hole here.

My only concern is the money musk is pushing for the right. Money equals votes and always has, the dnc refuses to help anyone not establishment. I hope the money won’t matter, but I think it will.

We’ve seen quite a few time that Musk has ended up spoiling votes. Because he did quite a good job tanking his own rep with the DOGE BS last yeast.

Money can’t trump voters when voters are paying attention.

It would help if they publicly said they will remove him and his criminals from the government. I don’t wanna hear anything about it being a time for healing and reaching across the isle.
