He’s running the largest militarized police force in the US right now and is actively using it to abuse the most vulnerable populations in the city even though he said he wouldn’t.

What a silly comparison the mayor of NYC has functionally no power to do a lot of the things Zohran wants to do because he is still beholden to the whims of their governor and Kathy Hochul does not really give a fuck on what Zohran wants.

I also think is continues to be rich how we describe Gaza as a Trump issue, obfuscating the long history of bipartisan support for genocide.

ICE was murdering people in a less public fashion just the same as they are now. Biden expanded ICE when he was in power to crack down on the border harder. Obama created ICE. The Dems love ICE and using it for all the same things Trump does.

I dont think they are really all that different when you look at the material outcomes they support.

I think a more apt way to put it is both parties understand they no longer represent the people who elect them in any way so now the game is finding the most palatable face to shill your corporatist agenda.

Dems picked a military contractor, rapist, Nazi. Not sure what they expected to happen when people learned this.

The desire to disengage from the political structures that rule us, allowing them to strip us of power by atomizing us and destroying any kind of solidaristic consciousness that may arise to challenge the status quo, is exactly how we have gotten to where we are.

These are learned, cultural issues that need solved if we are ever going to create a world that actually functions.
