The FBI on Friday began reaching out to donors of Dan J. Sullivan asking about potential deception, as federal authorities ramped up their investigation over the U.S. Senate candidate in Alaska who shares a name with the Republican incumbent.

An Anchorage-based FBI agent visited a boat dealership in Petersburg, a small fishing community accessible only by air or water where the candidate lives. The agent left a business card for Charles Flint, who told The Associated Press he has known Dan J. Sullivan for years as a respected teacher and musician.

The FBI visit came after federal officials confirmed the existence of a criminal probe over the candidate. The U.S. Department of Justice also pushed Friday for a court order to isolate certain Alaska ballots to investigate potential voter confusion.

    Republicans: what’s the big deal if we impose in-person voting where you need an ID - it’s so very simple to get to the polls and have an ID, who could possibly object to that? { bats eyelashes innocently, adopts what they think is a super-cute pose }

    Also Republicans: WHAT??? Voters are expected to read the ballot a little closer and know what “incumbent” means!? I don’t care that ranked-choice voting means that may make little difference! { Proceeds to make a federal case out of it }

    When Republicans run spoiler candidates going back decades, it’s no big deal. But when Democrats do it once, OOOOOO!!! there needs to be a federal investigation!

    Dirty tricks? Yes. Any broken laws? No.

    Just more grievance politics bullshit from the Republicans who can’t win a fair election without cheating.

      I thought it was comical that someone pointed out Alaska is a ranked choice state. So if you have a ballot that says

      1. Charlie (R-Incumbent)
      2. Charlie (I)
      3. George (D)

      If 10% don’t know what the R or the incumbent mean… Then they pick both Charlie’s and George last the incumbent isn’t hurt by it… Still is considered to be voted for before George

        That’s just the cherry on top. I lived in New York when they instituted ranked choice voting, and it could not possibly have been more clear. Anyone who claims that ranked choice voting is “confusing“ shouldn’t be voting in the first place.

      When Dems take the House (and hopefully the Senate), they should investigate the election interference that the Trump administration is doing on these midterms

        Yep. Trump will pardon everyone. But it needs to be well documented and brought up to every candidate running for the Epstein party.

            Technically, they can’t. Effectively, who knows? That’s why we need to hold their feet to the fire. They’re going to try again regardless. We can’t have them all just saying it’s all water under the bridge again and forgetting to do anything. prosecute every last one of those fuckers to with in inch of their life and an inch of beyond the law.

          Democrats need to exploit the loopholes that currently exist and work to close them.

        The Michelle Obama Doctrine of “When they go low, we go high” is a proven election loser, but that doesn’t mean we have to lie, cheat, and steal like they do. All we have to do is play Hard Ball, and FORCE MAGA to play by the actual rules, not the “rules” they invent to get themselves out of any situation.

        In sports, teams/players are forced to follow EVERY rule, no matter how obscure or arcane. No team gets to pick and choose which rules they agree with, or change the rules to give themselves an advantage when the other team is doing well. They don’t get to choose the referees, pay them off, and demand the referees rule in their favor.

        Things like deciding a Supreme Court seat can’t be filled during the last year of an administration, then shoving an approval through in the lame duck period can’t be allowed to happen again.

        The 14th Amendment/ Section 3 specifically prohibits those involved in an Insurrection from holding elected office. That not only means any politicians who were directly involved, but also any politicians who amplified The Big Lie - that Biden stole the 2020 election - which softened up the citizenry to support an Insurrection. That alone means that MOST Republican/ MAGA politicians must resign their seats IMMEDIATELY, and any future candidates who have a record of supporting the Insurrection, the Insurrectionists, or have denied that Biden WON the 2020 election will be declared ineligible to run.

        14A/S3 was passed, and made a Constitutional Amendment, precisely for the situation we are in - to punish Traitors who have tried to overthrow our government, and to keep Traitors from ever holding a position of influence within our government. It makes perfect sense, and we are lucky that our forefathers who had experience dealing with traitors would foresee this situation, and went through the trouble of passing a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT to give us the tools to hold these Traitors accountable.

        Thanks to Lincoln, it means that every single MAGA in our government, at ANY level, is ineligible to hold office, and we have an obligation to the Constitution, our Nation, and the World to carry that out.

        Let’s do what the Constitution, and Lincoln’s victorious Union government has empowered us to do, and eject these MAGA Traitors from our government. All it takes is the will to play Hard Ball, which isn’t hard at all. It’s just following the rules, and expecting the other side to follow them, too. It’s only what we expect from both teams when we sit down to watch any Sportsball game. If Hard Ball is good enough for sports, why isn’t it good enough for politics?

      Yeah, if we allow the argument “they’re not a serious candidate, they shouldn’t be allowed to run” in one case it will be the thin end of a wedge that ends up with things like “they said they don’t support Israel, obviously they’re not serious” and “they admitted to being an atheist, there’s no way they’re seriously running for office”

    So if there is already a politician with your name, you can’t run, is that the new rule that MAGA has made? That sucks for people with common names like Sullivan, Rogers, Collins, etc. I guess MAGA Louisiana Senator John Kennedy has to resign his seat.

      The Texas Senator who changed his name to “Ted” was clearly just trying to confuse voters who meant to support Libertarian Ted Brown

    Going after political candidate donors isn’t a bad sign right fellas? Typical shit here. People donated to Trump and he raped more than worked and tried to coup us but noooo we gotta harass the donors to some Dan guy in nowhere Alaska. A state whose entire vote count is less than my one county’s early voting numbers.
