Like the Romans used to drink from lead cups. Something like that.

Do you disagree with anything I’ve said or, like every other big alcoholic/hedonistic baby, you just felt called out? It’s for your own good. Trust me, I can say all the things you’d love to hear, they’re just not good for you and I can’t in good conscience spread nonsense when most of you have little besides that (outside of empirical, material facts, ofc) in your minds. 🤷‍♂️

Your whole point assumes a person can only reflect and grow at the end of the day and in a sober state. It’s completely stupid.

Do you think a person who abuses/has made a habit of alcohol only drinks at night here and there? I was just giving an example, it wasn’t an exhaustive list… Don’t avoid the conclusion, even if you don’t change your behaviour, it is what it is.

Do you think a person can’t sit and reflect during lunch? Or confront moral truths while having a beer?

I’m not avoiding the conclusion, I’m saying you don’t achieve it at all and your entire premise is riddled with assumptions and fallacies. You are far worse for my mental health than a beer, lol.

From another comment they made, they seem to be projecting their time as a “party boy” onto everyone else. It doesn’t sound like they ever discussed moral philosophy over drinks which many have done.

I have been an academic and a degenerate and understand that truth lives in the grey areas—something they are incapable of or unwilling to understand. I took a peak at their history after reading your exchange with them and yeah, zero self-awareness.

“Avoid intoxicants for the negatives outweigh the positives” seems like a pretty reasonable statement to me.

Well, no, I replied to a comment that already called alcohol a dangerous thing, I just expanded on it, talking about how it’s not just the personal health risks but the social responsibility that should matter (if you don’t die or have any serious complications from alcohol abuse but you change for the worse and act with no virtue, it’s still an unnecessary fuck up, and continuing in it is a show of poor character).

But that was more of a direct citation from the Qur’an, and I’m not surprised that the word of God is more convincing/efficient than my own, which comes shaded by my own personality.

You sound like someone who was sheltered to the point that you’ve never seen a beer. Which is to be expected from someone with the high level of dipshittery present in their username alone lol

I’m gonna make a guess and say my life has had a more diverse set of experiences, both good and bad, than you, lol. I assume we don’t wanna share too much though, for security reasons. And my username is just factual. I don’t argue as much in my usual social circles because they’re not composed of propagandised imperialist fools, hedonistic manchildren and other sorts of nonsense people, and I’m certainly not the only monotheist there… but here, it is a good identifier. 🤷‍♂️

And still, you didn’t disagree. Which is good. You’ve got a brain, but it’s easier to run away from obvious conclusions when they’re uncomfortable, and this is a Western online space which means your opinion (morality is subjective and alcohol is good/isn’t bad) is in the majority so you’re comfortable sharing it. I understand, but do think about what I said in your alone time, regardless of what you post here.

my life has had a more diverse set of experiences

Yeah, I strongly, strongly doubt that. Not just from the way you think and write but from the conclusions you draw about everything you express thoughts about.

I don’t argue as much in my usual social circles

Yeah probably because you know how ridiculed and ostracized you’d be in almost any social circle. Referring to normal common human behavior as “hedonistic” and repeatedly babbling about “monotheism” is not only unpopular and weird, no one cares about those topics. News flash: most anyone who is religious is monotheistic. Therefore it’s not interesting or notable to bring up EVER. Let alone CONSTANTLY.

          And still, you didn’t disagree.

I disagree with practically everything you’ve ever written, that I’ve seen. Here’s one thing we agree on: “religion doesn’t need to be used for bad”. That’s it. Nothing else. I get shit on every time I say it on here but I’ll keep saying it, because it’s true. But again, NOTHING else you write resonates in any positive way for me whatsoever.

Here’s what I glean from what you write.

          • You were raised in a cult and heavily sheltered.
          • You don’t talk to normal people often enough to know what “normal” is.
          • You apparently believe in some form of Christianity that emphasizes hatred of pleasure in all forms and also emphasizes judgement to the extreme. It’s not a problem for you that the Bible expressly forbids the passing of judgement. Somehow that part always gets skipped, which you have in common with fundamentalist psychopaths.
          • Yeah, alcohol can easily be bad, but I don’t see any reason to think you know anything about it firsthand.
          • You come off as literally caring about nothing but using your “religion” as an excuse to judge.

Well, just to clear any confusion: I was raised Catholic and was a big fan of what Jesus said and did (still am, ofc) but the Paulian/Roman nature of the Frankenstein’d Trinitarian tradition just didn’t make sense so I was a very young atheist (arguing in Yahoo answers and everything, lol, the good old days) at the age of 11-12. Then I read more and life changed my circumstances and with it, my perspective, and I became a monotheist at the start of my 30s, like Jesus and those of his time and before him were. I’m a Muslim man today (I just don’t take the hadiths seriously because, duh, but idk if this means anything to you, I’m just making sure I’m understood). And I’m not American, we don’t have these popular sects or whatever where I’m from.

And no, “my religion” doesn’t allow me to judge, my morality and my brain does. The same way you can judge yourself and know when you acted right or not (hopefully), I can do it as well. And when I see “moral relativity” for the sake of hedonism, I gotta say something, for all of our sakes (because I need a reminder as well). I’m not here hating on people because they watch Harry Potter or eat too much candy, lol, I’m talking about something that can only evolve into tragedy, so one must be wary of it and avoid it, because “it feels good!” cannot be a passable moral argument (that’s the “Diddy/Epstein argument”, after all).

Yeah, I know. Your religion expressly forbids judging others. You don’t know anything about alcohol. Therefore no one will be interested in your thoughts on it.

Still no word on how it’s bad to use alcohol but not bad to judge even though your God instructed you not to. Hmm.
