I’ve been informed that people outside UK generally don’t know or care (not caring is the correct response BTW.).

Still seems bizarre to me.

    Angels is played a lot as a warm up or “please leave now” song at least in my area in southern Germany

      It’s definitely the type of song that plays in the club when the lights are turning on again, people are cleaning up, and you are singing with some random drunk German guy in the arms on the dance floor.

        It also seems to have a calming effect on drunks, making them more accepting of the fact that the evening has to come to an end. I honestly only have positive (while partially blurry) memories about this song :D
