Maps + WhatsApp + Translate for a week in Tokyo is not “unlimited or bust.” I copied the official storefronts on 29 Aug 2026 (checkout can move):

  • Airalo Japan, SoftBank +1: 7 days / 5GB $10, 10GB $17. Their “unlimited” 7-day SKU is $27. Fair use: 3GB high-speed per 24h, then 1 Mbps. Hotspot allowed.
  • Holafly Japan, KDDI/SoftBank: 7 days $27.50. Official page: hotspot 1GB/day. They do not publish a Japan GB/day FUP number.
  • Ubigi, KDDI + Docomo: 10GB / 7 days $14. Hiding Ubigi because I cannot track it would be a lie.

If you mostly walk Tokyo with Google Maps, 5GB for 7 days is usually enough. Hotspot a laptop all day and it is not.
