The Michigan Civil Rights Commission ordered Christine Geiger to remove Studio 8 Hair Lab's anti-transgender posts, pay legal fees, and complete civil rights training.
Beyond the obvious moral problems with discrimination (which are well covered here) this is just bad business. Profit has no gender identity, and she’s undoubtedly driving away cis customers who are sympathetic to trans rights as well.
Arguably getting penalized by the state might be good for her business in the short term by focusing the transphobe outrage cycle on her, but how long will that last?
