I built Soundmoji because Android Auto message readouts still handle emoji badly. A message that should feel quick and natural turns into things like the emoji name being spoken aloud, which feels robotic and breaks the tone.
Soundmoji is a free Android beta that replaces supported emoji with short local sounds inline while the rest of the message is still read normally.
I am looking for blunt feedback, especially from Android Auto users:
- does this improve message playback or feel distracting?
- which emoji should get sounds first?
- which messaging apps matter most?
- what was confusing during install/setup?
