Important context on US interstate trans migration: it’s not ‘ideological sorting’, it’s survival.

… I had to move out of Seattle because it is simply too expensive to survive, while crippled, on disability…

Don’t end up homeless! You’ll probably die or end up in prison.

There are nowhere near enough resources to meet all the need, but there sure is a lot of fentanyl.

I could never afford to live in Seattle itself, either. Living across the sound was the only way I could work it out, but honestly, I prefer living over here anyway.

        I could afford it.

        Untill I became crippled lol.

        But yeah, I hear you.

GreyStar is illegally rigging rent prices, nimbys make sure nothing good can ever happen, the entire construction industry is corrupt as fuck, and all of Seattle’s ‘affordable housing’ plans are total fucking jokes that won’t create anything approaching the number of affordable apartments actually needed, and mostly just functions as a subsidy to landlords that sucked at managing their own finances.

Seattle is the Delusional Rainbow Capitalism capitol of the country. At least San Fran knows its capitalist as fuck, Seattle for some reason pretends like it isn’t.
