Having jumper cables is good, but I also recommend getting a jump starter battery kit (I just searched “jump starter” on Amazon and saw a bunch) and checking that it is charged ~monthly. It lets you jump your car even if no one else is nearby, and as a bonus, many of them have USB outputs to charge small electronics such as phones!
