3 days agoI got banned from reddit after 11+ years (not entirely sure why). Never bothered to make a new account but did use old.reddit.com. That said, my reddit use has been dropping for months.
I guess I’m forced to not use it now. LOL.
Oh well.

Oh, of course they do. But there is more to it than that.
In the 50s not many gay people were out so it was easy for the Christian right to convince the masses they were child molesters and weirdos worthy of hell. By the 80s, Pride and community unity helped people come out of the closet and not be ashamed or afraid to show the world who they were. Lots of people were coming out of the closet and everyone had at least one gay person in their life. Now it’s harder to convince someone that gay people are bad because they’re exposed to more gay people and they see they’re just like everyone else.
The mob is stupid. Awareness alone doesn’t cut it. They need exposure as well.
