Both of those things were protested when George Floyd was murdered. But only so much can be accomplished through protesting.

Have you looked into getting an attorney to help you collect the worker’s comp and get on disability? In cases like this, they typically don’t require an up front payment. They’ll take about a third of what they help you recover, but that might be preferable to getting nothing.

It may play a role in nimbyism persisting, but it’s not why it exists.
