Not shocked at all to see a snobby reply on a post about wine

You’re paying for barrels and the extra heavy bottle that make it “feel” high quality.

I prefer Willamette wine if I’m going to get anything from the US, otherwise I go mostly for certain parts of France or Chile. The big exception I should say is I love Schramsberg but I also haven’t had a lot of Champagne to compare.

I just hate how overoaked everything is in CA wine. They want everything to be this huge bomb and it’s not my jam.

I thought I hated wine because I only had “good” California wine. After trying wine from other parts of the world it turns out California is just really good at making incredibly concentrated grape juice and aging the fuck out of it in barrels until it tastes like raisin caramel leather. Give me cheap S American wine any day.
