Wait, I just read in another post that the judge was slapping (down), not blasting. Which is it?

“Judge slaps down” . This sounds a little kink to me, and it almost seems like I’m hearing more about slapping from the bench. What are our courts becoming? Are all judges being trained in slapping (down) or is this just something Kathleen likes to do? I wish it was on Youtube so we could watch the punishment as it’s doled out.
