With all three host countries out of the tournament and no World Cup games today, some of us are emerging from a soccer stupor and checking in with our NSL, NWSL, Liga MX, MLS, CPL, and USL sides, which has got me wondering: what team or competition do Lemmings follow from the host countries? And, for those of you located in a host country, has following this World Cup encouraged you to support your local soccer team?
I have loosely followed Sporting KC in the MLS because they have a great academy system here. I mostly follow Premier League but have been thinking I might make more effort to follow MLS after the World Cup finishes.
I miss the old KC Wizards branding. Did you follow back when Lalas was playing?
I do see a lot of other people around here with SKC gear so there is definitely a following here.
Probably because you finally got rid of Vermes. He was a terror for you as a player, but wow was he tough as a coach AND sporting director at the same time for literally forever.
I didn’t no, but I think I might make it up for a game. It’s about a three hour drive for me but I think they are my closest team and run the local academies here.
So it’s like, basically just AYSO and high school in your area?
AYSO, High School, and some competitive youth teams in the Sporting KC Academy system
oh, oh I totally misread. Do they only have one academy side per age group, or can SKC have a U15 near you and another on the other side of KC but the same distance?
