Tampa and Jacksonville are probably the two biggest red cities in the country ain’t they? At least historically

Well they definitely ain’t the largest blue cities NYC, LA, and Chicago are all much larger and blue.

“Jacksonville leans slightly Republican by roughly 8 points: about 46% of voters vote Democratic and 54% Republican.”

At least according to best Best Neighborhoods, they did go for Angie Nixon though. Tampa is 53% from the same source.

And according to ConservativeMove.com Jacksonville and it’s suburbs is one of the better spots if you want to move to a more conservative city in Florida https://conservativemove.com/liberal-cities-in-florida/

Jacksonville is one of the country club meccas, and Tampa is where all the conservative old folks go retire. Both those usually indicate a conservative lean but it is much closer than I assumed

Edit: I was also wrong they were the biggest in the country, that title goes to Phoenix, a city that should not exist and is a monument to man’s arrogance

i don’t remember tampa being as red as the redneck shithole towns, plus they have USF. st pete is definitely dark blue, clearwater might be the reddest “city” in that area (scientology owns most of it). not as familiar with jacksonville, but it probably is more red than the rest

pretty much. st pete has been building a lot of “investment” housing under the guise of being “affordable” housing to displace results by out of state and investors. not that I don’t like other people, but it’s what it is now. I mean I debated renting a place for $450 to do art at and that the last time I was there is now $6000+ and it’s everywhere around here. It’s like oh yeah the rent is now 5k-6k-8k++ a month … my first car cost $600 to drive down town.

Fuck it. They can suffer with the rest of us
