Democrats have won the Senate majority, a feat that seemed unreachable last year but that came to fruition with Republican candidates failing in states won just two years ago by President Trump, whose failing approval ratings was a huge drag on the GOP.
Victory in the Senate will deliver additional oversight powers to Democrats, who will now have a much bigger say on administration and judicial nominations.
They will also set the schedule for the Senate and have new powers to call in administration officials for hearings.
The string of Democratic victories sets the stage for Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to return as majority leader in 2027 and for hardball negotiations with Trump on an array of issues, including on federal spending levels.
I cant beleive the best we can do now is Chuck Schumer and Jeffries. Neither deserves to be in congress at all. Incompetent bribe takers with no ambition to actually do the job.

Progressives should refuse to vote for him for Speaker. It’s not as if it’s a given position.
Jeffries should’ve been kicked out of the speaker candidate pool after his treasonous meeting with Kushner. The fact that no dem is talking about it is a bad sign and speaks to how much justice we can expect (or not) for all the corruption and criminal activity that happend these past two years.
Chuck and Jeffries speeches were fucked… the Dems got more this time despite their efforts.
Just watched his speech and he didn’t even mention ICE. The way he answered questions was so fucked up.
