Fucking incredible!!! I had really lost faith in the purple Texas that felt just below the surface for so long. I left last year and was feeling guilty that my blue vote today was going to a solidly blue California instead of fighting the good fight in Texas, but they fucking did it. I’m thrilled.
Celebrate tonight, but deep down my thought is that if Cornyn was chosen, things might honestly be totally opposite in Texas still on all fronts. Which means the Ted Cruz replacement won’t be nearly as easy.
Whatever campaign Ted Cruz tries to run, it’s going to look totally different from the campaigns we just watched. All the fear mongering around socialism and trans issues fell totally flat in Texas
