Since they are getting rich just because of people buying their stuff, the power is in buying. Stop buying. Watch La belle verte movie. There show how people stopped all this madness.

This doesn’t work in today’s world. Even if all of the fediverse and reddit would be on board with this idea, the impact might be less than 1% in missed sales, simply because the other 99% would not know about it because they don’t use social media, or it’s not in their algorithm, or it’s not on tv news. Plus you need to keep it going for a long time, not just a week until a different topic overtakes.

Many of these people don’t have fortunes from consumer goods. An awful lot of them are making money out of thin air. They create markets that rise, bubbles that grow, manipulate markets, etc., and the value of their investments go way up. No products were created, distributed, purchased. That’s too much trouble. Better to just manipulate numbers on a spread sheet, and voilá, wealth out of thin air.

That just works when the people buy directly, not thru government contracts or subsidies.

It’s of just Musk, it’s billionaires as a whole. One may have very hard time not buying anything from them while still surviving.
