In Bexar County, for instance, only eight people voted by mail, according to the state’s site. In reality, according to Michele Carew, the county’s election administrator, nearly 18,000 people have cast ballots by mail.

…

In person vote totals have also lagged. Election officials in Fort Bend County – one of the state’s most competitive districts – reported more than 75,000 ballots cast in person as of Friday morning while the state’s website shows just over 41,000.

Local election officials said they are still confident in the state’s election night reporting system, which functioned without any issues or delay in the March primary, but are frustrated the turnout numbers aren’t being accurately reported.

“It’s not that we haven’t entered the data, it’s just not reflecting here,” said Kristin Miles, the election administrator in Bastrop County and the president of the Texas Association of County Election Officials, referring to the Secretary of State’s portal.

I mean, if you think they won’t be pulling shenanigans on election day…

Harris County’s cascade of election day fumbles disproportionately affected communities of color

There’s no One Neat Trick to prevent people from fucking with an election. At the end of the day, you just have to bank on their hubris. Republicans told themselves they’d never lose Texas for twenty years. They haven’t taken an election seriously since the Tom DeLay era.

Now we just get to see wherever Dems caught them napping, or Greg Abbott can save the party from itself.

Oh they will try to do what they can. But I think there is less they can get away with when you’re in person on election day.

In some ways. It’s also easier to delay and prevent people from voting at all on the day of.

My logic was that if Democrats preferred one method over the other, that’s the one they’d target for ratfucking.

I’ll still be going on voting day.

And mail in/early voting heavily leans democrat. That’s definitely the one they will try to mess with. That’s a large piece of my reasoning.

I haven’t seen any evidence of that. I’ve seen a lot of evidence to the contrary.
