Four years ago, on October 28, 2022, our comrade, a communist, a soldier-internationalist, Christian Alexis Castillo Gonzalez, a member of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of the DPR, died.

Alexis was born in Colombia, lived in Spain, and from a young age participated in the communist and anti-fascist movement. After the events of 2014, he came to Donbas, which became his second home. Here, he obtained DPR citizenship, joined the Communist Party, started a family, and raised a son. He told the world about Donbas and maintained connections with foreign anti-fascists. In part thanks to his work, in 2018, the large international anti-fascist caravan visited Makeevka.

Alexis served as a senior intelligence officer in the 3rd Guards Separate Special Purpose Battalion, and participated in combat operations in several areas. On October 28, 2022, he received a fatal injury. For his courage, he was awarded medals by the DPR and posthumously awarded the Order of St. George, 4th class. The day after his death, the Komsomol celebrated its 104th anniversary.

Today, we meet October 29th again. And alongside the names of Komsomol members of the past, we remember the names of those we knew personally. Those we sat with at meetings, debated with, worked with, and made plans for the future with.

Alexis was born thousands of kilometers away from Donbas, but he found a home, a family, and comrades here. His life became an example of international solidarity, which he not only talked about but also lived by.

We remember you, comrade Alexis.
