I just read an article yesterday about a young woman who passed away after following the advice of an AI to stop taking her medication. I simply don’t understand why these capitalists are always so intent on monopolizing the market and controlling people. Are they truly so foolish that they always assume they’re right about everything—as if they were omnipotent?

I think if you made it to billionaire you probably think you have things figured out better than most people.

Power and money. They’re real life super villains. It’s why most people run for politics or become cops. Some want to make the world better, most just want to control others because they’ve lacked any kind of control at home or through their lives.

Yes, they assume because they have money they are doing everything right and must be the smartest people around. Even average people equate money with intelligence for some reason. It’s insane because the majority of people with lots of money inherited it. It’s almost impossible to become rich using just intelligence and hard work though. You always have to exploit people and be unethical in some way

The woman explicitly ignored her doctors though. It’s unfortunate and I think that model was flawed but it’s still a brain dead thing to do. At some point the benefits of helping millions outweigh some rare decisions and I’m not a corporate AI shill, an open source model would be just as susceptible to this scenario.
