Although I’ve also noticed a trend to the same thing in (ostensibly) democratic voters, specifically with stuff like the Epstein files. Egregious legal violations have become so normalized by the GOP that people are pissed the Democrats do, in fact, still follow laws instead of just leaking shit that has been sealed by a federal judge.

Unfortunately, I think trumpy has managed to hit the absolute floor of approval ratings. Roughly a third of any given population is highly authoritarian and will follow any leader that exhibits high social dominance traits.
