People didn’t carry around direct access on demand and we didn’t fucking die, we just didn’t have instant gratification. It would suck but we’d survive it.
That would require security updates etc to be done longer for phones so banking software and the rest will carry on working.
This but also not requiring a smartphone for banking in general.
