The idiots weren’t well-meaning with hearts of gold. They enjoyed guys actually getting kicked in the balls, gladiator games, and extreme objectification of women.
The way I saw it, the idiots in Idiocracy were that way because they were stupid, and less so because they were actually malicious. That’s in contrast to today where we have people who are certainly capable of doing better but chose to act the way they do.

That’s little more than cartoonish at worst. No one in the film is truly evil the way that real world oligarchs are evil.
