The mass disenrollment of 760,000 people from Affordable Care Act plans is the latest bipartisan assault on healthcare that aims to drive millions of workers and their families deeper into poverty.

Healthcare is a social right, not a privilege to be rationed by corporate insurers and canceled by government fiat. The fight against the assault on social programs cannot be separated from the fight against the capitalist profit system.

    Reasoning that people who haven’t used their health insurance will never need it is the logic of someone who has never worried about a medical emergency that could spell bankruptcy overnight.

    I’m sure this is less about their indifference to what this means for those enrollees, and more about finding ways to cripple the ACA so they can justify killing it altogether.
