It’s hard to ignore all the political candidates that came in to dilute the votes and then only to drop out. If it was a horse race, I would say it looked very fixed.

And yet he could’ve negotiated with Warren for one of them to drop out.

You’re kind of making op’s point- he’s not politically savvy.

That’s true, he didn’t want to play ball when he could have played along and backstabbed them all if he got elected.

In a sense Bernie is already a backstabber. He becomes a Democrat when he wants to use their resources. Notice that as soon as the election was over in 2008, he left the party.

It’s like inviting yourself over to someone’s house for dinner. They’re happy to have you at first but then you start making demands about what’s for dinner, who’s getting what portions and then demand to sit in the comfiest chair and watch TV, etc…

He’s like a guy doing a booty call. He didn’t help build the party but he’s perfectly happy to use their resources when it suits him.

Or another apt analogy is someone who uses union resources without paying dues. Unions have to represent all the workers, whether they’re actually part of the union or not. There are workers out there who will stiff the union and talk shit about them but then come crying to them when they need help. Bernie was willing to use the resources, organizational infrastructure and name of the Democratic party but wasn’t willing to help grow or strengthen the party, either before or after he decided he need the Democratic party.

You can’t treat people like that and expect them to receive you warmly.
