‘Work’ in the sense that they better match my speed of comprehension and the rhythm of life to which I’m used. The same way as films from the eighties are often quite slow, e.g. watching Bill Murray take half a minute to walk across the room in ‘Where the Buffalo Roam’ was too much.
In the podcast app I’m using, I have speed setting for every subscription set to an optimal value, depending on the host/guests and the density of material.
Previously I’ve also tried higher speed like 1.3, but found that I can’t remember the content afterwards.
Your comment has about as much to do with what I wrote as chocolate does with fish. By your logic, it’s better to listen at 0.00000001 speed because that would mean I got attention span of a supergenius.
Also btw, if you think that an increase in playback speed of 15% radically alters the timespan of media, you need to get your own perception faculties checked.
