I love Minnesota. It has strong labor rights. It ranks near the top of national lists for education, life expectancy, and happiness.
But man, this a really bad look.
This will turn public opinion that democrats are soft on crime This will be used as a bludgeon against all immigrants nationwide. Hope it was worth it.
Republicans use any perceived misstep as an excuse to demonize the left, so shifting policy rightward to compensate is just playing into their hands.
While his crime was horrible, the fact that he came to the U.S. as a child should result in a punishment comparable to that of a natural-born U.S. citizen. Republicans elected a rapist to the presidency, so they certainly don’t have a leg to stand on in this matter.
