What apps/sites are yall using lately that you weren’t in the past 2 years? Any features you like?

Are there new lemmy frontends or ones that are your goto? I remember that being a thing that felt superior to the regular front end but I don’t remember which were good or how to access them.

Has Friendica, Mastodon or any other service got signicant or interesting updates in the last year or 2? Any Linux clients? Does a fully interconnected app or one meant for crossposting exist? Saw that openvibe switched to a subscription model recently and you can only log in to 2 profiles. I’ve always liked the idea of publish on your own site, syndicate everywhere and the activityhub seems built for that, yet it doesn’t seem possible across it? Does anything actually support that here yet in a usable way. (I always found making crossposts to mastadon from lemmy and vice versa confusing.)

I just feel out of the loop and don’t see much discussion about what’s new here. Wouldn’t mind anyone doing self promo, since I never see that here.

Some things I’m aware of that weren’t around when I got interested in the fediverse

  • Loops on both appstores (Tiktok Alternative)
  • Intersteller on ios appstore (Mbin client, lets you reply in feed and scroll around instead of opening a full screen popup)

i’ve been a huge fan of hubzilla, it lets you host a complete website, events, wiki, chat, shopping cart, crossposting etc. anything you could ask but it had a downside that the UI was built on php and made things difficult for a newcomer. As of now this issue is also being solved by a modern responsive theme built by me. its an experiment but coming along fine, eventually it would be support all of hubzillas features coupled with a neat UI. I’m testing this on my hub and can be previewed at https://utsukta.org/channel/utsukta-themes

posting from my lemmy account because for some reason lemmy.world rejects my comments from my hub.

Oh interesting! I like the design. Ive been looking for something that can combine more fediverse stuff together into one coherent whole. I like the inclusion of the calendar.

Ive had that issue with lemmy.world a while back. What I did to fix it was subscribe to my own account (gotosocial/lemmy) and then it started accepting the posts/comments. Im not 100% sure why but if I were to guess its something to do with vetting the servers somehow. Maybe?

thanks, hubzilla is meant for individuals and is more of a publishing/online presence management platform. definitely worth trying if you want to try something new.

And i have tried your suggestions and communications seems to be only one way lemmy -> myhub. the other way i get a 403 error in delivery reports.
