I added Reddit to my age verification bypass extension!
Age verification is everywhete, so I’m making an add-on for #firefox to bypass age verification on many platforms!

I just added Reddit to the list of supported sites! It can now automatically remove the NSFW log-in popup when viewing NSFW subreddits. (Yes I know we have Lemmy on the fediverse, but I think it can still be useful!)
If you don’t have Firefox, or want a more private experience, you can also use a front-end like redlib at https://redlib.catsarch.com/ to avoid communicating with Reddit entirely, and you don’t even need my extension on that one!
(Video shows off the concept but doesn’t show any actual nsfw contents)

Nice! I might have done something wrong though, as it doesn’t seem to work on android. I was able to install the extension, but was still locked out by reddit.
@UnfairUtan Huh! That is strange, for me it works!
Are you sure you have enabled the extension and allowed it to run in private windows if you use these? Is it version 1.0.3?
“…” > Extensions > Age verif bypass > Cog wheel > DetailsAs it’s also not working for me on Android I’ve taken the following screenshots in case they help. I used the same subreddit as your testing, just to be sure.

@BaroqueLobster Can you please try :
- Update the extension to the latest version 1.0.5 (or uninstall and reinstall)
- Refresh the pageThere seems to have been an issue when you didn’t navigate directly to the page from the URL bar but from elsewhere on Reddit. This should be fixed in the latest version.
I hate to be that guy but it still doesn’t work - same results as my previous screenshots. I reinstalled the extension and restarted the browser but there’s no change. I have been testing this by directly accessing the subreddit via the URL, hand typed into the address bar - not via links from somewhere else on Reddit or the wider internet.

@BaroqueLobster I see that the popup says “View in app” while the one I block says “Log in”, can you log out and try again?
I’m not logged in, I don’t have an account so there’s no way anything could be cached either. It also does the same thing in a fresh private session. If I switch the page to desktop mode using the regular button in Firefox, I get the following:
