Donald Trump pledged Wednesday to send every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections, an extraordinary gambit to reverse his party’s sagging fortunes in November.

The dubious promise would likely cost more than $1 trillion and require congressional approval, and would further exacerbate the country’s nearly $1.8 trillion annual budget deficit and concerns about inflation.

    There were previous DOGE dividends (thousands of dollars) and Tariff dividends of $2,000 which never happened:

A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone

    Since then the debt has grown by $3 trillion dollars and no dividends have been paid out. What’s changed since then is rather than not paying out $2,000 he will now not pay out $5,000.
