      They are not awake near me. They continue to beleive there’s a tangible benefit to safety.

        Arguing against that point is not our path to victory. There is a real theoretical benefit to these security cameras. I will not judge on how true the benefit is in reality, because that really isn’t relevant to this discussion.

        We must hammer home the personal downsides that outweigh any perceived security benefits. Go to your city council meeting, but before you go, look up what information data brokers have for sale about each city council member. Say the creepy shit you found about them to their face to make the privacy invasion real to them personally.

        (The recent GamersNexus story about LG spying showed him doing this at his local city council meeting and the looks on the board members’ faces clearly showed that they went from not paying any attention to the boring meeting to actively shitting their pants and trying to hide it. It was glorious.)
