No shit, there are a large amount of USAmericans who don’t understand this. I have brought this up to people arguing about “Mex’cans in 'Merica”. They honestly don’t know this, and when they realize it’s true they just double-down on their bullshit. It gets in their way of trying to justify their fear of brown people.
