It’s amazing to me to think Netherlands is the way it is today due in part to the gas shortage of the early 70s.
USA did also start to reinvest in public transportation after these shortages. We have obviously ways to go.
I don’t believe we will survive the Trump administration though. The federal government is absolutely going bankrupt, and with it will go any reinvestment into our public transportation. I’m a pessimist so hopefully someone can be more cheerful below.
NGL I think this would be better for the country, the federal government has so much power, it taxes us yet provides nothing in return except endless idiotic wars
I would love for actual gas rations to be implemented, maybe that would finally be enough to get people to actually bike places.
