President Donald Trump did not dispute that he is building monuments to himself amid his architectural blitz in Washington, DC, saying in a recent interview that “nobody will do it once I’m gone.”
He’s not. He’s doing it because he thinks nobody will literally build monuments to him. Not because they think he’s an asshole, but because he thinks no one BUT HIM will be able to do it.
He’s a narcissist through and through. Taking things into his own hands because it’s the only way he’ll maintain power and control.
I don’t know, but my 2 yaers old does this too: “you NEVER let me have chocolate!”
So in my head I see Trump also saying “NOBODY will ever build me a monument” while pouting, crossing his arms and wiggling his shoulders back and forth for emphasis.
My partner is a clinical psychologist. She says this is one of those lines that gives away a patient’s narcissistic personality disorder diagnosis. Because a narcissist never feels about themselves how they need others to feel about them.
