    the meshnet stuff never really works for me past a couple hops but i keep messing with it anyway. main thing i did was stop putting everything in one place, seperate accounts, seperate machines. doesnt fix the big picture obviously but atleast one bad day doesnt take the whole thing down

      I suppose you could start firing up alt nets like Freenet or like meshnets and the like assuming the worst happens to the clearnet.

        They control so much of the ecosystem of our lives, though. How much disconnection is possible before it becomes harmful? Will it be possible at all in the near future? I feel like I’ve watched this emerge slowly in the last 2 decades as people willingly adopt these tech dependencies, myself included, though more cautiously, despite all the warnings. We should not be empowering companies that are willing to hurt us and we’ve gone and done exactly that over and over again. They clearly use leverage to force concessions and we’re giving them more with every dependency. No wonder they trend toward monopolizy.
