Animal advocates are voicing concern over wild horse treatment after the New York Times reported that several hundred were being sold to slaughter since Donald Trump took office.
The delisting and relisting was not due to fundamentals but politics. They never stopped being endangered in the US, critically so in truth.
As to the horses, they were only hunted out 10k years back, and were normal horse size, they were the size of foxes several million years ago and grew larger since.
I strongly disagree that because it’s not the exact same sub horse lineage that it should not be allowed to repopulate a range HUMANS extirpated them from. We should be introducing elephants in South America as well, another megafauna species wiped out by human invaders.
