Civil liberties groups decry plan to use gloves linked to death of Kentucky man allegedly shocked 27 times in county jail

Plans to supply Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers with special gloves that can deliver electric shocks have alarmed experts and drawn scrutiny amid some high-profile lawsuits over their use in local correctional facilities.

In one extreme case, a 43-year-old man died after allegedly being shocked 40 times by officers with a combination of the gloves and a Taser in a county jail in Kentucky, and the man’s widow is suing authorities.

Earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the parent agency of ICE, published plans to spend up to $20m (£15m) to outfit ICE officers by March of next year with the controversial gloves, which are also used in various police departments and some schools.

That’s closer to reality I think.

A small percentage of people definitely support ICE. Maybe not everything ICE is doing, but overall.

But people who don’t support ICE have a lot to worry about if the full weight of the federal government and their armed goons is unleashed on them and they are kidnapped to a concentration camp. Individuals don’t stand a lot of chance resisting and not even Congressmen are having much luck changing anything.

So in other words more than a 60% supermajority of Americans don’t support ICE

              For MAGA Republicans

Cult members gonna cult. What percentage of likely voters are identifying as MAGA now and what was that same number in January 2025? Because I’d bet that’s gone down

You really work hard to construct a positive about the inaction of the US citizenry.

77% of republicans think the US is safer with how ICE is operating.

37% of the US is cool with it.
