Donald Trump wants the Navy to rip out an electromagnetic launch system and replace it with a steam one.
Once again, the dimwitted President has gone full Juggalo.
Ummm, I wouldn’t normally defend ICP, but Violent J and the other members of ICP have come out as supportive of basically everyone in the last few years*, and have straight up said that their early songs are indictive of how uneducated they were at the time, and have since then disavowed, and stopped playing all those songs.
ICP, and Juggalos in general seem like a Hard Rock/ Rap version of The Rainbow Family at this point.
Juggalos are also getting news stories for doing the same thing that the punk scene did, and tossing fascists out of their gatherings, then showering them with faygo.
*I know they came out as supportive of LGBTQ, as well as furries, partially because of their kids. People learning to be better is a good thing.
Was this comment made on the correct post?
Yes.
O.P. used “Juggalo” as a derogatory term indicating a prejudiced and ill-informed person. The reply is in defence of ICP, and by extension Juggalos. Pointing out that they have made considerable strides in inclusivity.
I just read the post that the parent meant to reply to. So yes
So they figured out how magnets work?
I don’t actually think they figured out how anything works. It seems their kids made them realize the messages they used to promote were hateful to either their own children, or the friends of their children.
I’m sure that getting morally upstaged by your own kid is both embarrassing and a very proud moment for many parents. I wouldn’t know.
But they’d have to leave station and go into dry dock to do that. That’s not how the Hegseth navy rolls.
Meanwhile in China where they believe in science and innovation:
https://nextgendefense.com/chinese-carrier-electromagnetic-catapult/
Navy: it will take until January 20, 2029 for the design of the replacement to be finished and approved.
It’s not just inferior tech being redesigned, Steam production/reservoirs need extra space, and space taken away from existing design. Very unlikely that steam would be needed for anything else on the ship.
I am kinda hoping that EMAL carriers are pulled into drydock, and then steam carriers are put into extended duty. The EMALs can be refitted and ready for service when civil war happens, and serve the ReUnion against the Confederacy - with EMALs in good order. Thus, the Trump Regime is saddled with the logistics of supporting their own rotting steam carriers, and also paid for the healthy upkeep of the ReUnion’s boats.
That would be a pleasing thing to see.
“GLORIOUS CLEAN STEAM!”
Why don’t we go back to steam for the engines too while we’re at it?
The aircraft carriers prior to the Ford used steam catapults. Nuclear reactor plants make plenty of steam, and American carriers all have at least two.
That being said, a redesign to support steam catapults in the Ford class is asinine. The electromagnetic ones were a core design feature, and years of work went into making them reliable.
Magnets don’t work when wet!
One class clown spills a glass of water during an electro magnet demonstration in 2nd grade and it leads to the death of a nation and a run at extinction.
How do people see the pooper-in-chief meddling in small-potatoes stuff like this and see him as anything but a mentally-declining senior citizen? Is this any kind of issue a President should be concerning himself with? Is there nothing more important on his plate?
If it’s meant to be another stupid distraction, I’m sorry to say, it’s working better than some of them.
Its obviously a grift. Someone wants their old contract back, and paid for it, i figure.
I’m not sure. It’s been made pretty clear that Trump literally does not comprehend how magnets work.
The other option is that Trump wants to cripple the fleet.
It’s OK everyone. He’s finally demanding that thing we have been demanding for almost 100 years. Free health… air craft carriers to have steam power added back into them. Like they were in the good ol days of yore. Because government contracts cut corners everywhere. When you find an issue. Declare your family the only people that can be paid to do a job. Pay them and everyone just forget that trump funneled billions from the defense fund to his own banks accounts that may or may not be in the US.
This mother fucker said magnets stop working in the water and are therefore a stupid thing to put on a boat.
This can’t be my original timeline. This is the demented rantings of an old man. But he happens to be the fucking president…
Fuck this.
The timeline split in 2000.
Man I wish I was in the other one and Bush wasn’t able to steal the election from Gore.
They must have it good over there.
FUUUCK
Still haunted by hanging chads. Fuck
Maybe if we do large amounts of LSD, there could still be a way to switch timelines back to the good one…
It’s a slim hope, but… worth a shot?
I dunno man…I’ve been truly puddled a number of times since 2000. I started going to Burning Man in 2003 and I can assure you no amount of LSD will allow you slip into a proper timeline. We just fucked.
Yeah, I was mostly joking. I didn’t even notice your username till just now. Funny.
But back when I was still “spiritual”, the thing that kept me going back for more salvia-induced terror was a belief that it would help me hop over to a different universe or dimension if I could just figure out how to do it right. I was desperate for a new isekai life. In hindsight it was delusional, but hey you know how they say it took Edison a thousand tries to get the lightbulb right…
Funny shit my friend, gotta say…fuck salvia. Man that shit is truly dissociative, it made me so uncomfortable. Only did it once and had no desire to ever go back.
I’ve definitely been to other dimensions and pretty much grateful for always coming back, even with this fucked timeline.
Yeah it made me feel like a vase that was shattering, before my senses melt together and my body dissolves into nothingness, and I emerge into a different dimension as a disembodied consciousness.
And every fucking time, I would have the same thought as if anew: “This is what dying feels like. I’m dying. I’m literally dead and now I’m in the afterlife. I can never go back to my body. Fuck. Now I remember why it always terrifies me. How could I have forgotten?”
And usually I would get stuck in that loop until I return to my body and kiss the ground. But occasionally I would blow past it and after the initial shock of dying there were sometimes some pretty wild experiences. But nothing really worth the terror of passing through that window. And it always felt at that point like there was something else just out of reach, just a little further, some deep secret, an even deeper and more hidden dimension, which if I entered it I truly never would return to the physical world. And sometimes I would try to reach it but always turned back in fear after the shock of breaking through, now matter how determined I was beforehand.
Another thing I often felt was that “dying” felt like waking up from a dream. That’s why I thought I could never go back. Because once you wake up, you can never return to a dream. It felt like everyone I knew in this life had been a figment of my imagination, or perhaps spirit actors playing as characters in my life. And sometimes it felt like they were all there, laughing at me for thinking it was real…
But the secret always was that in “the game” of the physical world, the most important rule is that you can’t let anyone know you see through the reality of it. You have to pretend to believe it’s real. And that’s why when people talk about other dimensions, they’re labeled as crazy and sequestered in insane asylums. Because they broke the most important rule. And that’s why no one will ever tell you you’re dreaming, that this is all a charade.
At least, that’s what I believed at that time in my life. But slowly the world broke in on my conscience. I felt like I was being gaslit about the reality of the world. Like all these people know it’s just a dream. They know we’re all just spirits playing pretend as humans. And they’ll deny it to my face and medicate me until I pretend just as hard as they do…
I’ve always read DMT is a gentler experience but I never got my hands on some…
Wow brother, it sure sounds like it had a profound impact on who you are the way you engage reality/the universe. That’s rad.
It had an experience I perceived as dying and I was perfectly okay with it. It was fine and felt good actually, almost disappointing upon returning.
It was in the 90s in Ohio. We heard that people were doing ketamine in California and I had a friend who worked at a vet. What we didn’t know was how they did it, snorting it. My vet tech friend got us some and we did it like they give to animals as anesthesia, we injected intramuscularly. Holy shit. lol.
So anyway by the time I tried salvia about 10-15 years after that, I knew I wasn’t dying. But it felt kinda awful to me. I was sitting on a bed and my legs were suddenly hundreds of yards away from my body. All I could do was lay back and wait it out.
As far as dmt I was also introduced to it in the 90s. My brother was in those experiments in New Mexico, there’s a video out there about them and he’s in it. Sent me some to Ohio while he was in the study. Yeah it’s wild, I’ve had a few very profound experiences on it. Notably one time when I went to the main ballroom of the elves who dwell there. We danced together hard. It was so wild.
After that every time I did it again they made me sit in waiting room (like the movie Beetlejuice) and wouldn’t let me back in the ballroom, they said they showed me everything I need to see. I stopped trying it as it was frustrating and didn’t go back until one time in 2019. Different experience altogether.
I never understood people who use it recreationally, way too profound.
Anyway good to connect. Have a great weekend.
Hanging, dimpled, pregnant…the chads of our undoing sported different looks. The Bush family found all of them attractive.

Sadly every alternate timeline is someone’s default timeline. Sad we just got stuck in the fucked up one.
Theory: Timelines with human civilization dominated by strongman fascists usually are stuck in Malthusian medieval loops because they’re so poorly run. The timelines with democratic republics, while in the minority, have much longer boom-bust cycles with populations limited only by how long voters choose not to elect strong men. So, your chances of being born into a random body in history mean you are more likely to be born in a democratic one.
I shudder to think what dimbulb donnie’s science-y thoughts would be on something like a railgun.
That’s basically what he’s been doing his whole life, to everything. It’s getting to the point that everything he does is emblematic of American decline, while also directly causing it.
Here’s why the navy is switching to the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System, over the reliability of steam catapults:
The system launches carrier-based aircraft by means of a catapult employing a linear induction motor rather than the conventional steam piston, providing greater precision and faster recharge compared to steam.
Its main advantage is that it accelerates aircraft more smoothly, putting less stress on their airframes. Compared to steam catapults, the EMALS also weighs less, is expected to cost less and require less maintenance, and can launch both heavier and lighter aircraft than a steam piston-driven system. It also reduces the carrier’s requirement of fresh water, thus reducing the demand for energy-intensive desalination.
My guess is that Kegseth really wanted to see testosterone filled Seamen covered in hot, damp steam.
He’ll drink too that
Alcoholics gotta drink something.
If he wasn’t a foreign Manchurian candidate, he would make an excellent one
I’ve launched off the front of aircraft carriers hundreds of times, have a Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering, and am a test pilot and even I wouldn’t suggest to the Navy how to engineer specific systems on its ships,
Naval aviator, combat veteran, test pilot, aeronautical engineer, space shuttle pilot, space shuttle commander, captain Mark Kelly significantly understates his qualifications. People who know a lot of stuff usually know what they don’t know.
Its why I hate being the “smart one” at work and amongst friends and family. The smartest people I know don’t automatically answer every question they get asked or don’t take it upon themselves to find an answer. I have some fucking horrible compulsion to find the correct answer to everything.
The smartest people I know can stick to their domain. They seem far less stressed. And they are able to be content knowing there are things they don’t know.
To me, knowing a lot doesnt equate to intelligence in the slightest.
The more you learn, the more you realize just how much knowledge you lack. And it never stops getting worse. At some point I started realizing there were things I didn’t even understand how I knew them. I’m sure all of you are aware of how disturbing that feels. The inability to provide knowledge of the self.
I would NEVER give medical or legal, or safety advice outside of the realm of electronics and softwate. I can certainly tell you what I know but I will also tell you that a person with a license and malpractice insurance behind them is necessary to tell you want to do with that knowledge.
People don’t like that. People don’t like it when they think you are smart and state something “without confidence like that.” They like it even less when they find out your knowledge was sufficient and they “wasted money on a professional.”
Trump does this shit the same reasons mid level and higher level managers do all their stupid shit. Because people prefer it when you are strictly confident, especially when you are confident about something that would benefit them, completely detached from the reality if it will or won’t.
Naval aviator, combat veteran, test pilot, aeronautical engineer, space shuttle pilot, space shuttle commander, captain Mark Kelly significantly understates his qualifications. People who know a lot of stuff usually know what they don’t know.
This last part is something those that suffer from Dunning-Kruger like Donnie will never understand, especially since he has malignant narcissism and a life in which he was coddled by privilege.
It requires humility to really grapple with that last part. Donnie just thinks being a “genius” is in his blood.
