      I’m with you about the lawns, but pidgeons?Hate them.

      If they were professionally raised and stayed within their area, naybe. City flying rats which have 0 care for everything, nest inside people’s balconys (I’ve had pictures of them sitting on/near anti-pidgeon deterrents), and shitting on everything everywhere, hell nah.

          What is a bio 20-30

          Canadian for high school level biology

          Never heard of it. Am Canadian, went to uni. Were you to say ‘Chem 11’ or ‘Math 12’, then yeah.

            That’s basic level, like you can pick science 20/30 or you can pick two from chemistry, physics, or bio at those levels. The mandatory one is science 30 but I think bio 30 should be baked in because we clearly did not teach enough people how their whole shit works

                Convoy = Canada

                Nah, it’s more a combo of bad schooling, Flatlander Dementia, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and any kind of a stressor that populists can leverage to de-platform scientists, giving us hicks weaponized by talk show hosts masquerading as leaders into the Flu Trux Clan and their Karen Konvoy

                  No mention of the kitchen sink with all of that verbal flotsam and jetsom? Now that’s restraint!

      I’d get rid of my lawn for a patch of ground with native vegetation but want my dogs to have a decent area to poop on so it’s tolerated for that.

        Aw i love seagulls, i love any creature that finds a way around our mess and makes a niche inside of it. Plus they learned how to steal and that’s kinda fun.

      Regarding lawns, I think it’s the feeling of accomplishment when you’ve mowed them that’s the kicker. A wild garden can look better, but there’s something about the smugness of having a freshly cut lawn that gives you a slightly virtuous buzz.

          In germany gardens are quite boring. Short cut grass to 6mm, hedges, front garden is stones. Barely and flowers. That is it. Not as brutalistic as american “gardens” because german gardens atleast the oder once have at least a BIT of british garden style.

          I am german and this is the reason i dont want a garden. Because the image of owning a garden for it just to be boring has been ruined for me. Now classical english gardens. Oooh they are true beauty!!! If i would get a house and garden, then that would be the garden i’d get. But im pretty sure for all that i would have to go threw lots of governmental institutions…also these flowers sadly arent very well suited for the climat change heat from what i know. The other type of garden i’d love is a bog garden.

          Buuut i dont know how faar i’d be allowed to get it to act like a natural bog. Mind this area used to be a bog until it got drained in the 50s-60s and its peat got harvested away :(

            Canadian gardens are generally boring also, though there will always be that one down the street where they go all out. But I have come to realize these are, in fact, necessary. You need to feel humiliated and apologetic about the state of your own yard. It builds national character.

            You’re right about England though! Wow, even the rolling countryside looks so carefully manicured. Really drives home to any Canadian our colonial peasantry roots. Highly recommend the visit. 10/10!

            My neighbour just mowed the lawn (we take turns). Was the grass long? No. It’s dead. We’re in our 5th heatwave this year.

            She only mowed the clover (which is (was) doing well) and the wild flowers that the other neighbour mowed around. What was (dead) grass is now dirt.

            What is wrong with you, Germany.
