NYC should look into what Singapore is doing and has been doing for a while with hot weather urbanism.

This doesn’t make any sense. They say the subway platforms are too hot during the summer, which is true. Everything in NYC is too hot during the summer, including the platforms.
Then they say that during the winter, they want to transfer heat from the subway platforms to buildings that can use the heat. How is that supposed to help with the platform temperature during the summer? It’s not especially hot in the subway during the winter either. So there’s no need to move the heat out.
Toronto uses cold lake water to cool most of the large buildings and subway stations since 2005.
