And at the stupidest of times ever - as more and more energy is being sought out for things like data centers…

    Conservatives are such fucking morons.

Yeah they’re not gonna do that. The NYT is a myth. Something befucked citizens talk about amongst themselves to make themselves feel better. A magical time when ‘a free press’ was to ensure power was held to account, and the general public was informed.

Not no more. Not for a long while.

This is the dumbest shit ever. I hope they bungled a loophole into the deal and the firm will just come back next year and get new leases in different spots or something.

The plots have already been leased and demand for electricity is high enough. They probably will just kick these properties over to someone else while taking Trump’s free money.

But, in the meantime, you get development delays and energy price inflation.

Assuming the firm stays in wind power, then it’s basically a $1.2B subsidy for someone else’s wind power project. It’s not ideal, but it’s a silver lining.

They probably will just kick these properties over to someone else while taking Trump’s our free money that trump no doubt stole hundreds of millions out of.

Couldn’t they rebrand and basically take Trump’s monopoly money to continue the project under a new name?

Like I said, loopholes. Paying someone to not do something under specific circumstances that could easily be done under different circumstances is a real smoothbrain move in any domain.

No. They no longer have the right to put turbines in the water there. Might be able to do it in state waters where California is talking about an offshore wind deployment.

But oil is manly. Green energy is perceived as feminine, possibly gay.

The conservatives don’t want to be perceived as female or gay. That’s what is really driving so much of this.
