National Guard troops seized Anna King, slamming her to the ground and leaving her with injuries that required surgery, according to a federal tort claim
A retired U.S. Army captain and Iraq War veteran is taking legal action after National Guard troops approached her outside her Washington, D.C. home, pushed her to the ground and detained her in an aggressive, caught-on-camera confrontation.
Anna King, who received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for her service, was cornered on her front porch by three National Guard troops on the evening of May 8.
“Get away from me right now,” King can be heard telling the guards in footage taken on a Ring security camera. “You have absolutely no authority to detain me.”
Footage shared by the ACLU of the District of Columbia shows King trying to go inside her home as the men, three Idaho National Guard members, grab King and force her to the ground as she screams for them to get off her.

If anyone has any doubt what side the military is going to be on when the shit hits the fan…
You know what’s wild? The US military runs on socialism. It literally cannot work without it.
I’ve been saying it for years. This is Weaponized Patriotism. They spent the last 20 years deifying the military in American eyes so at least half the country would either be fine looking the other way when the military is turned on US citizens, or are so deep in the propaganda that they’ll outright support it
National Guard is a small part (and state specific) of the military AND is mostly representative of the state they’re from. They usually have a more homogenous world view derived from the culture of their state.
Active duty military gets to experience other places and takes people away from their home state, usually improving their world views.
Point being, it’s not black and white, and generalizations are generally useless.
You mean learning where countries are on a map by bombing them?
'cept that time they murdered students from Kent State to New Mexico.
Yeah but then they were defending themselves from …. Flowers and stuff
Now they’re going on offense
That’s my point exactly?
Wasn’t Trump deploying the National Guard to other states specifically for that “problem”?
Remember Kent State
Remember Kent State
and U New Mexico
I won’t trust them until I’m sure.
I deployed and went TDY all over US and the world, as did my NG counterparts. The only difference is they don’t PCS. Regardless if they are active or guard/reserves, they get plenty of exposure. Some people just don’t change.
The PCS part is really important. It’s what forces you to be comfortable with loving in New surroundings.
I can understand why more people in the guard don’t change. Because despite the TDYs they are always going to back to the same home.
My point was that it isn’t. At least half of the active duty guys I kept in touch after I got out all went full on maga. And most of them PCS’d not only all over US, but Europe and Asia as well.
Yeah, sure. My point was you’re more likely to have NG guys that never change because they don’t get as much exposure.
Active duty tends to have more exposure. Doesn’t mean they all grow better for it.
You’re bringing in anecdotes. I’m sorry you’ve met so many miserable people.
