Yeah. The Facebookification of reddit is one of the things that killed it. If you make it too easy to access and use, you get more noise than signal, like people asking the same questions over and over, or cheap jokes in the comments that drown out useful ones.
I think the people that find it here are probably decent. It’s really just when money gets involved that the vultures start circling. I guess time will tell how the fediverse experiment goes
