    We’re really not that far. We could honestly just do more of what we’ve been doing to get there with robotics, 5 more years of this even with the worst version is probably enough to get chore robots done.

    Second, we still have the HUGE problem of raw materials and energy limitations

    Human need is finite, we have already mined up enough stuff for all humans, and humans don’t reproduce at the replacement rate in fully developed nations. Robots that can manufacture solar panels fully autonomously is all it takes to fix energy limitations, and recyclings only problem is that it’s more economical to mine new things.

    Third, you really need a 180 in economy global system in order to avoid any of the distopian alternatives: either the rich enslaving all the poor, the poor killing all the rich, or any combination.

    Why bother in a world of complete abundance? The only real example of completely senseless violence in humans is religious, outside of this it is all resource based.
