Pretty funny watching the tankie response to this as if it’s a huge betrayal and proof that reformist socialism can’t work and all candidates are liars and blah blah blah… No mayor in the world has the power to unilaterally arrest a foreign leader unless it’s a sovereign city-state like Vatican City. I wonder how they’d react to, say, the mayor of Shanghai arresting Kim Jong Un.
The whole conversation is grandstanding and purity signaling when we should be talking about actual powers held by Mamdani (and other Mayors/Governors). From high level strategies for divesting from Israel to simple subterfuge and disruption of daily fascist operations.
“Sorry Netanyahu, looks like every road to your meeting is now under construction. You’ll have to walk through the protesters”
I literally yet to see a single person is upset be cause he can’t do it. I mean duh, he’s mayor. He can’t tell people to get arrested. Why is media keep underlining that people getting mad?
Where are those people? Am I not seeing them because I’m in America? I think big tech again meddling some weird algorithmic shit to manipulate something. Idk what but it doesn’t feel natural. It’s like reading a news about that’s it shines.
Edit; ok I’ve seen some clueless idiots just a few lines below. Guess some people do are really dumdums
