You’ll never get better from neo-liberals. They are essentially mercenaries for change, if you want something to change they have to be paid first or find a way to monetize it so they can make a buck off it.

The people digging that hole arent going anywhere. Our tent needs to have some rules, or we need to toss people out when they wont align. “Big tent” hasnt been working. Things like genocide, allowing birth control and womens right to choose, universal human rights, etc arent negotiable and if people dont like that they can get tossed from the tent and lose that D near their name. Right now the “D” means next to nothing.

The Dems are our only hope and they havent changed much since the lost election. Its still government by donors

Infringing on free politcal speech is one of those few truly bipartisan issues, along with separating kids from their parents, protecting and participating in kid fucking, going after whistleblowers, allowing law enforcement to have no accountability and free reign to do whatever they want, and of course, supporting and sponsoring genocide against anyone israel says is scary or amalek this week.

Seems there’s always a line with the holders of conservative values of how far they’ll go. Used to be it was black people, then it was gay people, now it’s trans people.

I’ve been accused of transphobia in the past (wrongly, I should add), and even I understand that you are talking to the mind not the body. How is this such a hard concept for these people?

Honestly they don’t even care… theyre looking for power and trans people are an easy target due to people’s look against us and how small a minority cant fight back alone. Just as easily, once they claim that they can in fact hold power against one group of people- they’ll go to the next, then the next, then the whole shebang… That’s why trans history is so short, people love to delete history to make themselves look better and trans history and trans rights are always the easiest one to erase due to us being the smallest of minorities, but the most abnormal to conservatives. Once they finish demolishing trans rights/hostory/activity, they’ll go for the gays, the bi, the lgbt as whole, they’ll go for smaller non christian religions, disabled people, immigrants, people of color, they’ll go for women, the poor, until only those in their ideal like mindedness are in power.

Then again they do love attacking all of us illegally, putting a little bow on it calling it democracy or justice or whatever. Idk if that makes us sound like a doomer but that’s just got they operate. We can fight them in legal court all day, but honestly we wonder how long it’ll take till the people snap.

I’d say you need a Stonewall moment, but perhaps a “sequel” is more apropos. It’s shameful. I’ll never understand the mentality that something so literally harmless as minding one’s own business get’s them so riled up. SMDH

There are two things discussed here, the candidate’s statement (indefensible, as expressed) and OPs headline saying that people are being “BANNED!” by Ohio dem party. To the second, the screenshot you post isn’t communicating that, it’s communicating that another elected official was asked by their party to discuss the matter strategically in public while work is done internally to address this and form a united response - those things being take stakes for elected politics - and they weren’t happy with the pace of any supposed internal resolution and unified public response, which is understandable. But all of that has nothing to do with OPs choice to push Abby in the morning’s inflammatory headline of " BANNED!!!" which is only intended to leave left minded peoples split against themselves.

“the Ohio Democratic Party itself demanded the criticism be removed, effectively barring those within the party from publicly critiquing a major candidate’s transphobia.”

Did you even read anything past the headline? How is saying theyre banned misleading or whatever youre trying to argue? And then to get the name wrong, get corrected and STILL get it wrong really leaves me to believe you are acting in bad faith.

ODP says they broke the rules. What those rules are left for interpretation. But they did delete a post on Facebook.
Arienne 🧵is saying Ohio DNC and the candidate in question betrayed rights.
Erin is indeed making assumptions of censure, but something is holding these two from saying more.

I’m not surprised but I also think most people with these ideas don’t actually believe them. They’ve been fed a line of bullshit about people with differences being their enemies. It should be our job to push back on it.

We should NOT pander to regressive bigoted bullshit for a crumb of power. It doesn’t even work! These weak democrats sell out their people and lose the election anyway because they’re spineless wimps. They don’t stand for shit and that’s why they lose. Shame on them.

I 100% agree. Dems don’t have to do this. Kamala literally gained more white support than Biden, Hillary and Obama 2012. Suburban White voters aren’t fleeing over trans stuff the way the media is trying to portray it.

But they’re winning the messaging battle.

We do? I’ve been calling Ohio “the Florida of the North”. Mostly because “Ohio Man” and “Florida Man” may as well be the same person in a different hat, “Texas Man” is his own distinct brand of batshit.

well I suppose that one moniker, that with which we refer to the parts the light doesn’t touch known as Pennsyltucky, sounds positively delightful by comparison then

I can tell you I’d definitely rather be in Pennsyltucky than North Alabama, but neither one is what I would call particularly enthralling tourist destinations nor hidden gems among the hills. Unless you count Deliverance or Children of the Corn as a hidden gem, which, I mean fair to you, great films, not how I’d want to spend a weekend.

And now, just to really fuck with you: Ohio has breached containment. Ohio is in the Vice Presidency, and will be at the wheel if Trump dies. You may have realized this already, but if you haven’t, if that doesn’t make you shiver a bit, I don’t know what will. I am very ready for the Trump state funeral, I am very much not ready for The Adventures of Couch-Loving Ohio Man With the Nuclear Football.
